THE FINAL DAYS OF BONNIE & CLYDE

On May 6 1934, Bonnie and Clyde had a meeting with their families.
They had no idea on that rural road near Dallas that this would be the last
meeting of such nature. Bonnie had even mentioned fear of their looming
demise to her Mother. At this meeting she gave her the now infamous "The Story
of Bonnie & Clyde" poem.
~
Bonnie and Clyde stole their last car in Topeka, kansas, this car would end up
being the car they were to die in. It was stolen from the driveway of a
private residence. The car was a 1934 sand-colored Ford V-8 Sedan. It had
custom seat covers and built-in water-style heater. Very top-of-the-line for this era.
~
Henry Methvin and his father, Iverson Methvin, who had been harboring Bonnie
& Clyde, had tipped off the police that the pair were staying with them. This was in
hopes of giving Henry imunnity to crimes committed while in the company of
Bonnie & Clyde. Frank Hamer and his posse of men ambushed the couple
off a road in Gibsland, Louisana.
~
Bonnie & Clyde did not get burried together as they had wished. Each family had their own plans. The hysteria that followed their deaths had grown larger than it was when they were alive. Both funerals were standing room only.
